SgSTT, in collaboration with PUB, is looking to bring Singapore’s microtunnelling / pipe jacking community together to strengthen industry knowledge, competency and professional standards.

Microtunnelling and pipe jacking play an increasingly important role in the installation of Singapore’s underground infrastructure. As the industry develops, there is a need to bring contractors, consultants, authorities, equipment and technology providers, academia and other industry professionals together to share knowledge and help raise standards across the sector.

Raising knowledge. Strengthening competency. Building industry standards.

SgSTT is therefore exploring a new industry initiative focused on microtunnelling / pipe jacking. The proposed direction includes developing industry best practices and technical guidance, expanding seminars and practical training, sharing project experience and lessons learnt, and ultimately developing appropriate competency and certification pathways for professionals involved in microtunnelling / pipe jacking projects.

Industry participation will shape what comes next.

An important part of this initiative will be industry participation. SgSTT wants the people who design, manage, supervise and construct microtunnelling / pipe jacking projects, as well as those who supply equipment, materials and technology to the industry, to be involved in shaping how the initiative develops.

If you work in microtunnelling / pipe jacking in Singapore, we want to hear from you.

Over the coming months, we intend to engage more widely with the industry and build a stronger microtunnelling / pipe jacking community within SgSTT, ahead of a broader industry engagement planned for 2027.

We want to hear from the industry. If you are a contractor, consultant, engineer, supervisor, equipment or technology provider, academic or other professional involved in microtunnelling / pipe jacking in Singapore, we would like to hear from you.

This is an opportunity to get involved early and help shape the future development of microtunnelling / pipe jacking competency, training and industry standards in Singapore.

Further details will be announced shortly.
